Edmonton Oilers sign forwards Zack Stortini and Carl Corazzini

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers re-signed forward Zack Stortini to a three-year contract on Tuesday.

Stortini recorded 12 points (3-9-12) and 201 penalty minutes in 66 games played last season with Edmonton. His 201 penalty minutes ranked him fifth in the National Hockey League. "Zack had a very productive season last year and we're looking for him to build from that," said Oilers Vice-President of Hockey Operations Kevin Prendergast in a statement. "He's an intimidating presence on the ice and is establishing himself as an important part of our hockey club."

The 6-4, 220-pound native of Elliot Lake, Ont., made his NHL debut with the Oilers during the 2006-07 season. Stortini played in 29 games, netting one goal with 101 penalty minutes.

The Oilers also signed right wing Carl Corazzini to a two-way contract on Tuesday.

Corazzini recorded career-highs of 36 assists and 60 points with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins last season.

Captain your a clown if you think this Organization is a Joke Best Fans in the league And soon enough we will be the best team in the league once again. There is only one other team in the history of the NHL that dominated like the Oilers did. We call that a rich history and remember history always repeats itself.

'seatbelt' stortini is undoubtedly the worst fighter in the league. All he does is hug it out with his opponent, with no intent or ability to throw down. They might have to change the rules for him and dish out a 7 minute major (5 for fighting and 2 for holding). But in all seriousness the entire organization is a joke, not just Scoretini

Stortini will make the third line at some point, sooner rather than later if the Oilers see a lot of injuries like last year as well as the year before.

Time for Mac to bump this kids minutes up, this kid has impressed me every time I've seen him play, he just has that nasty edge and it is always in overdrive.
