Judge dismisses bid by ex-hockey agent David Frost to have sex charges dismissed

NAPANEE, Ont. - A judge in Napanee, Ont., has dismissed a bid by former hockey coach and player agent David Frost to have sex-related charges dismissed.

Frost faces six charges of sexual exploitation involving four teenagers dating from his days as a hockey coach in Deseronto, Ont., in the early 1990s.

The ruling was issued Monday against Frost, who has denied all charges and will next appear in court on August 25.

Frost was initially charged with six other sex-related offences but they were dropped in March 2007 due to insufficient evidence.

His trial is scheduled to begin in Napanee on October 14.

Frost is also facing trial next April on fraud charges over the alleged illegal use of a credit card belonging to jailed St. Louis player Mike Danton. (CJBQ)

Guys like Frost do put things into perspective. I see a lot of rants about Gary Bettman in these posts (I'm guilty of authoring a few of those myself) and there are other hockey people who seem to be lightning rods for trouble and definite red flags waved before the faces of the majority of fans. But Frost is nothing but a total scumbag, a complete bad apple who seems to poison the lives of everyone who has the misfortune to cross his miserable path. Being a St. Louisan and a Blues fan, I became well aware of his stranger than fiction episode with Mike Danton and when you examine the bottom line on this creep there's only one word that fits him: CRIMINAL! I hope the judge throws the book (make that an entire library) at him and that he gets the up close and personal treatment (you know what I mean) every day of his existence in the slammer.

Its' dirt bags like this that make me understand why some parents wouldn't want their kids playing hockey too far from home (Eric Lindros/OHL days). Throw a loser like Graham James into the mix and I can understand completely. I love Jr. hockey and think it's a great system in general but I've heard enough ex players horror stories(tons of sex, drugs, booze, fighting at centre ice for the last roster spot...) to know I'd want to keep a very close eye on my kid.

Frost is a disgrace to the game. Somebody should drill a hockey stick up his you-know-what and see how he likes it. Seriously. He belongs in prison. Not jail.

“I was coming in to take the boards away and had some good jump. He bobbled the puck at the last second and I don’t think he saw me coming at all. It was a shoulder right in his chest. He’s eight feet tall, so it’s not like you could hit him in the head.”
