The Hockey News player of the week for the period of May 26 to June 1 is Detroit Red Wings goalie Chris Osgood.
The 35-year-old stopped 22 shots in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup final to earn his second straight shutout of the series. Sidney Crosby snapped Osgood's series shutout streak at 137:25 in Game 3, but he rebounded to make 22 saves in Game 4 as Detroit seized a 3-1 series stranglehold.
In search of his third Stanley Cup, Osgood had a 1.45 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage this spring.
