The Hockey News player of the week for the period of May 12 to 18 is Pittsburgh Penguins right winger Marian Hossa.
The Penguins advanced to the Stanley Cup final for the first time since 1992 Sunday and won two big games this week to clinch that spot.
Hossa posted six points in three games during the week, including a four-point effort in the series-clinching 6-0 win Sunday afternoon.
The speedy sniper was added at the trade deadline for Erik Christensen, Colby Armstrong, prospect Angelo Esposito and a draft pick.
Hossa is now tied with Evgeni Malkin and Henrik Zetterberg for second in playoff scoring with 19 points in 14 games.
