The Hockey News player of the week for the period of April 14-20 is Colorado Avalanche goalie Jose Theodore.
The Avs depended on Theodore's stellar play to earn a six-game victory over Minnesota in Round 1 of the NHL playoffs.
Colorado closed out the series with three straight wins, over which Theodore stopped 96 of 100 shots.
The defining moment of the series was likely Theo's Game 5 performance, in which the rejuvenated puckstopper turned aside 38 of 40 Wild shots to help Colorado earn both a 3-2 win and take a 3-2 series lead.
Theodore, the 2002 Hart Trophy winner, has a 1.88 goals-against average through six playoff games.
