Been a little while since the last blog, hope everyone is doing well. Some pretty cool things have happened in the past few weeks I want to fill you in on.

It was a big surprise and a huge honor to win the Bruins’ 7th Player Award. For those of you who don’t know, the award is voted on by the fans and is given to a player who exceeds expectations on the ice.

Getting any type of award is always good, but this one in particular is even better because it’s voted on by the fans. To be recognized by them in that way was awesome, especially considering how many of the guys deserved it.

I think we, as an entire team, have exceeded everyone’s expectations (outside our locker room) and guys like Glen Metropolit, Dennis Wideman, Chuck Kobasew and a bunch of others have stepped up in a big way this season. They could have gotten the award just as easy as I did.

On top of a pretty sweet trophy, I also got a brand new 2008 Dodge Nitro as part of the package. The only problem is I don’t know what to do with it! I bought a new car a few months ago, so now I have two. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good problem to have and I’m not complaining by any means, it’s just kind of a funny situation.

I think I may bring the Nitro out to Vancouver and let my parents use it and then I can drive it when I’m home in the summer. That’s probably my best option.

Some of you may have noticed my new haircut…got the shaved head going on now.

Wideman, Aaron Ward, Phil Kessel, Patrice Bergeron, Andrew Alberts, Mark Stuart and I, all shaved our heads as part of a charity event in order to raise money for MassGeneral’s Hospital for Children.

The event was fun. We went to WBCN’s radio studios in Boston and they had the “barbershop” set up on stage. Fans were able to buy tickets to the event, with all the money going to MassGeneral.

They could also bid on being the ones to actually shave our heads. All in all, I think the boys are happy with the new cuts. And even if they aren’t, it was still worth it because we helped out a good cause.

The final count for the money raised was more than $25,000, which was better than we expected. Thanks to everyone for helping out.

Almost time for another mailbag! Keep emailing in those questions to editorial@thehockeynews.com and I will answer them in the next blog.

Talk to you soon,

Milan
