The Hockey News player of the week for the period of March 31 to April 6 is Phoenix Coyotes left winger Daniel Carcillo.

Carcillo, the NHL's penalty minutes leader by almost 100 minutes, put up some big numbers of a different kind, scoring five goals and six points over the final three games of the season. He scored his first career hat trick Friday night versus Dallas before adding two more goals in the season finale against Anaheim on Sunday.

The tough rookie's late-season burst bumped his season totals to 13 goals and 24 in 57 games.
