As you know the NHL awards ceremony is coming up and the league gives out awards for top goal-scorer and most points, but what about the player with the most assists in a season? Aren't young hockey players taught an assist is just as important as a goal?
Why not make the Wayne Gretzky Award for most assists in a season?
He's a great person to base this award on because he has more assists than any other hockey player has career points. As you know, the NHL has honored great players such as Maurice Richard, King Clancy and Art Ross by naming awards after them, so why not honor Wayne Gretzky with an award named after him?
