NHL reviews Pronger stomp after getting clearer video of incident

TORONTO - Anaheim Ducks defenceman Chris Pronger faces a possible suspension for his apparent stomp on Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler.

The incident occured on Wednesday night but the NHL didn't originally have proper video evidence to suspend Pronger. Then on Thursday night the NHL saw a new angle that gave a better view of the incident.

Pronger is slated to have a phone hearing with the NHL on Saturday.

"He stomped on me," Kesler told the Vancouver Sun after the game. "He got me on the calf."

Pronger has been suspended seven previous times in his career, including during last June's Stanley Cup final with Ottawa when he elbowed Dean McAmmond in the head and was forced to sit out one game.
