Rewarding losers rewards teams playing not to win

The NHL should think of getting rid of the one-point for overtime ties system.

Simply award two points to the winner in regulation or overtime. Then, if it goes to a shootout, give the winner one point and the loser nothing.

Losers should not get any points at all. Winning in regulation, or overtime should be rewarded.

Giving a point for a tie, or two points for a shootout win seems to be rewarding teams playing not to win, but to tie.
