The Hockey News Player of the Week for the period of Feb. 11-17 is Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price.

Price began the week by stopping 22 of the 25 shots he faced in the visiting Canadiens' 6-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators Feb. 11. He replaced Cristobal Huet within the first five minutes of the game after the starter allowed three goals on four shots.

The rookie then made 35 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Florida Panthers Feb. 13, which helped end the Habs three-game losing skid.

Price followed that up with a solid performance against the Philadelphia Flyers Feb. 16, a game in which he made 34 saves en route to a 1-0 shutout.

In the three games he won this week, the Vancouver, B.C., native posted a 1.32 GAA, stopping 103 of 107 shots faced, for an impressive .963 save percentage.

Price improved his overall record to 12-8-3, with a 2.72 GAA and a .913 SP.
