Sharks change backup goalies again, recalling Dimitri Patzold

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks changed backup goalies again Friday, sending Thomas Greiss back to the minors and recalling Dimitri Patzold.

Patzold relieved workhorse starter Evgeni Nabokov in three games earlier this season, but mostly sat on the bench as Nabokov started the Sharks' first 43 games. Patzold went back down to the Sharks' AHL affiliate in Worcester last month for 10 games, going 4-4-1 with a 2.94 GAA.

Greiss, recalled from Worcester on Jan. 8, appeared in just one game with the Sharks, but got the only start of the season by a backup. The German rookie lost an overtime decision at Anaheim on Jan. 13.
