Wild put defenceman Sean Hill on injured reserve with sprained ankle

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild placed defenceman Sean Hill on injured reserve Monday with a sprained ankle.

Hill was hurt in Friday's game at Chicago. He has two assists and 11 shots on goal in 21 games for the Wild. He is minus-seven for the season.

The 37-year-old Hill is in his first season with Minnesota. He missed the first 19 games while completing a 20-game suspension for violating the NHL's drug policy.

During last season's playoffs, Hill - then with the New York Islanders - was suspended April 19 after testing positive for a banned steroid. He missed the final game of New York's post-season and was required to sit out the first 19 Wild games this season after he signed with the club as a free agent.
