The Hockey News Player of the Week for the period of Jan. 7 to Jan. 13 is Philadelphia left winger Scott Hartnell.
Hartnell nearly doubled his goal total over four games, scoring five times to bring his season output to 11.
The Flyers forward sandwiched a hat trick versus the Rangers with one-goal games against Atlanta and Boston as Philly took seven of a possible eight points during the week.
He also tacked on three assists to bring his weeklong point total to eight points in four games.
The 25-year-old Hartnell was acquired from Nashville last June and signed a six-year, $25.2-million deal with Philadelphia to forgo becoming an unrestricted free agent.
He has 22 points through 41 games this year.

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
