Carolina Hurricanes forward Craig Adams suspended two games by NHL

TORONTO - Carolina Hurricanes forward Craig Adams has been suspended two games after hitting Toronto's Alex Steen with his stick.

The incident occurred during Carolina's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday night. Adams was assess a minor penalty for high-sticking on the play.

He will forfeit nearly $6,500 in salary. Adams can return to the Hurricanes lineup when they visit the New York Rangers on Dec. 26.
