GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Phoenix Coyotes assigned right wing Bill Thomas to their American Hockey League affiliate on Sunday.
The 24-year-old appeared in four games for the Coyotes after being recalled from the San Antonio Rampage on Dec. 1. He signed with the Coyotes as a free agent in 2006.
Last season, Thomas had eight goals and six assists in 24 games for the Coyotes. The Pittsburgh native has nine goals and eight assists in 37 career NHL games.

“I was coming in to take the boards away and had some good jump. He bobbled the puck at the last second and I don’t think he saw me coming at all. It was a shoulder right in his chest. He’s eight feet tall, so it’s not like you could hit him in the head.”
