The Hockey News player of the week for Nov. 26 - Dec. 2 is Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Dustin Byfuglien.
The 6-foot-3, 246-pound Minneapolis native exploded for four goals in three games, including a natural hat trick in Chicago’s 6-1 win over Phoenix.
In all, Byfuglien recorded six points during the week, which represents about 66 percent of his total points (nine) in 14 games this year.
In addition to a four-point night versus the Coyotes, Byfuglien had a goal in a 5-1 win over Tampa Bay and a helper in a 3-1 loss to Central Division rivals St. Louis.
Drafted 245th overall by the Hawks in 2003, Byfuglien did not play more than 25 games in each of his first two NHL seasons.
