The Hockey News player of the week for Oct. 22 -28 is Montreal’s Tomas Plekanec.
The young Czech center had two assists Monday during a 6-1 thrashing of the Bruins, then torched the Carolina Hurricanes for two goals and four points in a 7-4 romp on Friday.
The four points against Carolina was a career-high for Plekanec, who is scoring at a point-per-game pace for the Habs.
Montreal’s fourth pick in 2001 (71st overall) is picking up where he left off last season, when he had 25 points in 33 games after the all-star break.
