Andrew Ladd wants extension with Jets, but what will it cost?

    Legendary New York Islanders coach Al Arbour passes away at 82

    The New York Islanders announced Friday that legendary coach Al Arbour has passed away at age 82. Arbour coached 1,500 games for the New York Islanders and was the man behind the Islanders four consecutive Stanley Cup victories from 1979-80 to 1982-83. Arbour is the second-winningest coach in NHL history and was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1996.

    Hurricanes’ youth movement continues as Lindholm signs two-year extension

    Elias Lindholm signed a two-year, $5.4 million extension with the Hurricanes and it’s clear the youth movement is in full effect in Carolina. Lindholm is just one of the young guns, alongside Jeff Skinner, Victor Rask, Justin Faulk and Noah Hanifin, that could help the Hurricanes contend sooner rather than later.

    Daniel Carcillo hasn’t officially announced his retirement, but the 30-year-old winger said it might be time for him to move on from the game. Carcillo said he feels he’s ’98 percent ready’ and could focus on his charitable organization, Chapter 5, instead of continuing to pursue his hockey career.
