The decision to play major junior or go the collegiate route can be a tough one for young hockey players. Although for Michael Matheson the decision was academic.

Matheson made the choice to play in the NCAA, but before heading to Boston College next season he will join the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States League for the 2011-12 campaign. 

THN’s Ryan Kennedy caught up with the Pointe-Claire, Que., native at the NHL’s Research & Development Camp in Toronto to discuss the camp, his career path and what he does best on the ice.

Was the one-game suspension given to Martin Hanzal for his hit from behind long enough?
